Historic market fair collaboration Invited by the Tamsui Historical Museum in New Taipei City, This collection of prints are inspired by the history of Tamshui in Taiwan during 1884. The two types of plants appeared in this collection are Screwpine and Linden Hibiscus, which have played a significant role in Taiwan’s then seaside battle strategies back in the 19th century.
The nature of these two plants has granted them ability to firmly hold sand and dirt, as well as blocking the strong wind at the seaside. These natural strengths have made them an important defensive settlement at the coastline.
Linden hibiscus is one of the frequently seen plants near Taiwan’s beach coastline.
The leafs are born in the lovely heart shape, with bright yellow petals blooming in the daytime, and gradually turns into scarlet orange colours in the evenings.
